Nessun Dorma (Twenty 4 Hours #23)

‘Djordje’ Gvido Obradović was living in Belgrade (at that time still Yugoslavia) when we corresponded but he did this zine when he was spending time in the U.K. Besides this, it had interviews with ‘Mega City Four’, ‘Exit Conditions’, ‘Treshold Shift’, ‘Blaggers ITA’, ‘Milk’ & ‘Deviated Instinct’; reviews (gigs/bands/records/tapes), a Colombian scene-report and various odd bits… This is the only issue I ever got to see. Were the previous ones in his mothertongue…? Gvido was also the frontman (guitar/vocals) of the band ‘Brainstorm’, did a tape-label called No Profit Tapes, ran the first distro in his country (Intermusic) and the label No Time To Be Wasted recs. Nowadays Gvido lives in Podgorica (Montenegro)…

Bristolians ‘Nessun Dorma’ (meaning ‘no-one will sleep’; named after the aria – that got well-know when Luciano Pavarotti sang it at 1990 World Cup in Italy – from Puccini’s opera Turandot) were Seamus Cummins (bass), Paul Perry (vocals), Phil (drums), and Ju(lian) Newby & Tony ‘Tone’ (guitarists). Read my post on their demo Your Chocolate Factory Needs You (1991)…
